Develops and validates diffusion MRI biomarkers of white-matter microstructure for early detection and monitoring of neurodegenerative disease. Applies diffusional kurtosis imaging and multimodal PET-MRI approaches to distinguish normal aging, mild cognitive impairment, and Alzheimer's disease and to characterize tissue integrity and iron-related changes.
